The Labcut series of manual cutting machines for use with 250mm/10in or 350mm/14in abrasive/diamond cutting wheels

The Labcut 250P and Labcut 350P are designed as the basic manual cutting machine modules which can be fitted with a number of different vises and fixtures to suit a variety of industrial cutting applications. The Labcut 250P can be manufactured as a bench top unit or as a floor standing system; the Labcut 350 is constructed only as a floor standing unit. The cutting head of the Labcut 250P is powered by a 2.2KW motor and is designed for the standard workshop cutting requirements. The more powerful cutting head motor on the Labcut 350P Cutting head.

Labcut 250P Basic Module

Cutting Head

The 12.7mm/1/2in diameter spindle is belt driven by a powerful 2.2KW/3HP 3 Phase motor. The long life sealed spindle bearings do not require lubrication. The cutting head is lowered using an adjustable side lever A hydrocheck is attached to the cutting head to ensure constant, but adjustable cutting pressure, for different users. A variable stop limits the downward stroke of the cutting head. Abrasive or Diamond Cutting Wheels up to 250mm/10in can be fitted. Adapters are provided for 32mm/1 1/4in wheel hole size. The standard wheel speed is set at 4000 rpm, however combinations give different wheel speeds for particular applications. An optional inverter can be fitted for variable speed between 2000 and 5000 rpm.

Work Table & Vise Assembly

The work table is 275 x 200mm in size with 4 T-slots for mounting different types of pneumatic vises or fixtures. The vises are activated by a microswitch located under the cutting head. In order to reduce cut length inaccuracies due to flexing when using rubber bonded cutting wheels, adjustable carbide guides are fitted on either side of the cutting wheel in the vice area.
In cases where cut lengths are small an ejection chute can be fitted so that the cut lengths slide down the chute into a collector. Long lengths of stock material to be cut can be supported on infeed roller tables with guiding into the vice area.
The end stop defines cut length and its position can be displayed digitally. It can also be positioned on an outfeed roller table.

Canopy

The canopy is interlocked by a safety switch and cannot be opened whilst the wheel is running. It has a large front viewing windows and 2 side windows. There are access ports on both sides of the canopy for cutting long bars.

Coolant Circulation

The machine can be used for wet or dry cutting. An external coolant circulating tank is provided for the bench top model. For the floor standing unit this coolant tank is located in the base cabinet. The 55l/min circulation pump ensures adequate supply of coolant in the cutting area.

Electronics

The electronics are contained in a compartment accessed from the rear panel. The front control panel has switching for the various machine functions. These include Power Indicator, Cutting Head Motor ON/OFF , Coolant Pump ON/OFF, Interior Light ON/OFF. The front panel switching is low voltage

Safety

The cutting machines conform to CE safety standards and features:

  • A safety interlock on canopy opening
  • Guard surrounds cutting wheel
  • Viewing windows made from impact resistant material
  • Low voltage switching on control panel

Labcut 350P Basic Module

The 32mm/11/4in diameter spindle is belt driven by a powerful 5.5KW/7HP 3 Phase motor. The long life sealed spindle bearings do not require lubrication. The cutting head is lowered using an adjustable side lever A hydrocheck is attached to the cutting head to ensure constant, but adjustable cutting pressure, for different users. A variable stop limits the downward stroke of the cutting head. Abrasive or Diamond Cutting Wheels up to 350mm/14in can be fitted. The standard wheel speed is set at 3000 rpm, however other combinations give different wheel speeds for particular applications. An optional inverter can be fitted for variable speed between 2000 and 5000 rpm.
